The school is unique within the system of vocational glassmaking and jewelry education in the Czech Republic. It offers unique courses focused on glassmaking and jewelry.
The school's history dates back to the 1950s – it was founded by the state-owned company Bižuterie. Since 1989, the school has existed as an independent legal entity – a contributory organization. In the same year, a new facility for theoretical teaching was approved on Smetanova Street. The building for vocational training on Podhorská Street also underwent extensive renovations, where the "Vocational Training Center" was built and began operating in January 2022. Students are taught their craft in newly renovated workshops equipped with the latest technology.
Currently, it offers a three-year course in the manufacture of costume jewelry and decorative items with a focus on the production of metal costume jewelry (metalworking), which has a long tradition in Jablonec nad Nisou. There is also a three-year course in the manufacture of costume jewelry and decorative items with a focus on glass costume jewelry (Železný Brod figurines). Students learn technical glass blowing in a three-year course in glassmaking and glass refining. We also offer training in the traditional two-year course in costume jewelry production.
In addition to the above-mentioned courses, those interested can also study in the service courses Cook – Waiter and Salesperson.
