On 11 June 2022, a group exhibition entitled 2022 - YEAR OF GLASS opened at the Jan Svatoš Gallery. The Central Bohemian gallery has spacious representative interiors and gardens and combines the art of glass with the art of ceramics.

The Year of Glass exhibition is primarily a friendly intergenerational meeting of allied glass artists and as such has no coherent curatorial concept. The common denominator of the exhibits is an honest approach to glass art and, not least, to glass craft, techniques and technologies, including the production of glass jewellery. At the same time, the courage to experiment and, in many cases, conceptual overlaps into the field of contemporary art are evident. Another point of contact is the cooperation with the Higher Vocational School of Arts and Glass in Kamenický Šenov, where almost all the exhibitors studied, worked (or are working).

The heart of the exhibition is the ground floor of the gallery, where the studio Bystro Design, which initiated and organised the exhibition, is exhibiting. Bystro Design is exhibiting works that were created in a collaborative studio, but also as part of individual work. Already on the ground floor there is a wide range of glass techniques and technologies, including the sophisticated Graal technique, while the representative show of technical processes and artistic approaches continues on the gallery floor, where the "guests" exhibit. On display are fused glass sculptures in a dynamic abstract approach of figuratively conceived cut abstract compositions based on fused glass and cultured engraved and painted glass.

Part of the exhibition takes place in the spacious garden, which is an integral part of the exhibition activities. The works of glass artists are thus combined with contemporary (not only) ceramic works, adding to the unique atmosphere of the place, which also offers a beautiful view from the observation tower that is part of the complex.
