Crystal Valley opens its doors on the weekend of October 18-19, 2025. Two days of open houses at glassworks, studios, production facilities, museums, and schools.
Unless otherwise stated, facilities are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In the 2025/2026 school year, the Železný Brod Glass School will celebrate its 105th anniversary.
As part of Crystal Valley, during the school's Open Day on October 18, you will have the opportunity to see not only an exhibition of student work with a glass shop, but also to try out some of the skills of our students and teachers.
Throughout Saturday, creative workshops will be open in all six glassmaking specializations of the Glass and Lighting Design program, including Product Design.
At the school's Hedvice furnace, we offer visitors the opportunity to try glassblowing on a pipe.
And for those interested in glass technology and chemistry, the Liberec Region domain, the Nanospider machine, is available for the production of nano textiles from polymers, including demonstrations in laboratories.
As part of the day's program, a glass bust of the school's first director, Alois Metelák, will be unveiled in the school lobby.

For those interested, we are organising four guided tours of the Secondary School of Applied Arts and Higher Vocational School in Jablonec nad Nisou. Workshops, studios and other school premises will be open to the public, with entry via the main entrance from Horní náměstí. Visitors will be able to see historical machines and workshop and studio equipment.
The Dvorek Gallery will also be open, featuring an exhibition of student work.
Guided tours of the school premises will take place at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00.

Night tours and a sky full of stars. The smell of kerosene, the warmth of the blowing machine, the magic of old stories told by eyewitnesses, the miracle of silvering, the moment when the beads separate, the joy of creating a new ornament.
At 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m., a night tour begins with stories of how it was in the old days and by the light of kerosene lamps. The night tour must be booked at www.rautis.cz, costs CZK 180 and includes a hot drink in the Nad věcí shop.

During the tour, you will see selected parts of the production process – from the initial sketches and designs, through technical development, to the actual handcrafting in the glassworks, cutting, and final finishing. The Jílek Glassworks will open its doors to anyone interested in handmade glass production. Together with an artist from the Brodita studio, we will prepare a children's program, a workshop called "Dress Your Puppet." We will also present a new book from the world of Brodita, whose scenes take place in Kamenický Šenov.
There will be coffee, warmth, and an open shop with products from the Jílek glassworks.
The book presentation will take place after the "fair," once the glassmakers have left their workplace. Probably after 3:00 p.m.

The glass museum, with a hundred years of tradition, offers visitors exhibitions on the history of the collections and the building, on the first teacher and director of the local glass school, Jan Dvořáček, and playful installations in the cellar rooms. If interested in a tour of the glassworks, visitors can purchase a glass ticket for 180 CZK for adults, 130 CZK for seniors, students, and disabled persons, and 100 CZK for children under 15.
Jiří Pačinek is one of the most important glass artists in the world – his unique glass works adorn Hollywood, Czech films, and have even been donated to the Pope in the Vatican. He has collaborated with renowned international designers such as Blanka Matragi, Beata Rajská, Bořek Šípek, René Roubíček, and others, and in cooperation with Tarespa, he creates trophies for prestigious sports organizations such as the NHL, NFL, F1, Bundesliga, and Fortuna League. You really must see this – his work is synonymous with artistic perfection and worldwide recognition.
